Rescue Railroad: New Dogs Arriving in PNW Foster Homes

Along with our new foster dog Rothko we also have two other foster dogs who will be arriving in Washington foster homes.

Stu is a 1 year old, 11 pound Rat Terrier and he is ready for FUN! This funny, short little guy loves to zoom around the yard and play with other dogs.

Stu will be fostered in Yakima, Washington.
Stu
Ratz is a 7 year old female purebred Rat Terrier who is as sweet as she is pretty. When she was a bit younger Ratz competed in agility and she knows basic dog manners as well as a few tricks! She is housetrained as well, which is always a plus. Sweet Ratz's person passed away and the person's sister found rescue placements for his dogs while she was in California settling his estate. A special thanks to her for making sure Ratz found a safe place to land when most folks take the easy route and take dogs to the shelter.

Ratz will be fostered in Seattle, Washington.

Rescue Railroad: 4 Foster Dogs Arriving Soon

The Pacific Northwest foster homes of New Rattitude will have 3 dogs, in addition to our Serra, who will be arriving this weekend.

Berrie
No need to shout out your oohs and ahhs - Berrie's ears are big enough to hear how much you all love her. This sweet shy girl was running out of time at the shelter but will now be hanging out with her foster parents' pack in Bellevue. Our guess is that she is about 8 months old and weighs around 10 pounds.

Plum
Another girl who will be joining Berrie in her Bellevue foster home is Plum. Little Plum is just 9-10 weeks old and weighs about 4 pounds. She's a sweet little Chihuahua/Terrier mix who we were contacted about by the shelter supervisor. The shelter was overly full and they wanted to get her safely out of there since she was so young and puppies can be more susceptible to the illnesses that are common at shelters. She's doing great though and we can't wait to meet her.

Jade
And last but not least is sweet Jade. This gorgeous chocolate tricolor girl is about 2 years old and weighs an estimated 14 pounds. She had run out of time at the shelter which struggles in the summer when so many strays are picked up. We're sure that she'll find a home in no time! Jade will be fostered in Gig Harbor, Washington and you can follow her at www.gigharborratties.com

Rescue Railroad: 4 New Rat Terriers in PNW Foster Homes

Along with Hopper there are 3 more Rat Terriers who will be arriving soon in New Rattitude Pacific Northwest foster homes.

Cricket
First up is Cricket. She had been living on a ranch in the Central Valley of CA. Her brother, another Rat Terrier, was killed by a coyote and the family didn't feel that she was safe any longer and looked for a rescue spot for her. Cricket is a gorgeous, 5 year old, 12 pound purebred Rat Terrier. She is house trained and good with other animals. She'll be fostered in Amity, OR.

Seven
Seven is about 2 years old and 11 pounds and his cute little stubby legs and goofy antics will keep you laughing. He was picked up as a stray by animal control and had run out of time at the shelter. Seven will be fostered in Seattle, WA and you can follow him on his foster mom's blog at http://cattierattie.blogspot.com/

Skipper
Last but not least is this cute little active puppy named Skipper. He's about 6 or 7 months old and weighs around 7 pounds. Skipper loves to play and is a confident little guy who is always up for an adventure. He was a stray picked up by animal control and in spite of his cuteness and the shelter featuring him on Facebook he didn't find a home. We're sure he won't last long here in WA. Skipper will be fostered in Yakima, WA and you can follow him at http://yapitude.blogspot.com/

Rescue Railroad: Two Dogs Arriving in PNW Foster Homes

We introduced Ellsworth yesterday but there's a second kiddo arriving tomorrow in a Pacific Northwest New Rattitude foster home.

Malone
Meet Malone! Malone is a 8-10 month old, 11 pound pup who is as sweet as he is cute. New Rattitude was contacted by the shelter about him when his hold period was over and he needed placement.

The good news is that Malone already has an applicant interested in him so if all works out and he seems like a good fit after his two week hold period, he'll be well on his way to a new home. He's being fostered in Amity, Oregon.

Rescue Railroad: 5 New Dogs in New Rattitude Foster Homes

Along with our new boy O'Keefe, there will also be 4 new female foster dogs arriving in our Pacific Northwest foster homes. Let's introduce the new crew!

Pippa
Pippa is about 1 to 2 years of age and is a busy little gal who enjoys playing. Her and her sister (who was rescued by another group) were strays who both have a new lease on life now. Pippa will be fostered in Amity, Oregon.

Colbie
Colbie is a little 10 pounds, 1 year old shortie who found herself running out of time in the shelter. What a cutie she is! Colbie will be fostered in Bellevue, Washington.

Mimi
Mimi is about 10 or 11 pounds and 2 to 3 years of age and is a beautiful gal who has a gentle, calm spirit. We can't wait to see how she blossoms in foster care. Mimi will be fostered in Seattle, Washington.

Quin
Quin is 4 to 5 years of age and weighs about 16-18 pounds but could stand to lose a little weight. She had run out of time at the shelter so a New Rattitude foster mom pulled her and fostered her temporarily for us until she could make the trip north. Quin will be fostered in Marysville, Washington.

Rescue Railroad: New Foster Dogs Arriving in Washington NR Foster Homes

We have three new dogs arriving in foster care tomorrow night and a fourth who came to us right here from Seattle. Welcome furry ones!

Neon
First up we have Neon. This sweet pup was surrendered with a total of 11 dogs a rural city shelter. The dogs ranged from about 8 weeks to 7 years old and were all Jack Russell and Rat Terriers or mixes of the two. Neon is about 5 months old and is a little shy due to not getting many experiences beyond the pen she grew up in. She's looking for a quiet, calm home that will work with her using positive reinforcement to build up her confidence. This pretty girl weighs about 8 or 9 pounds and will be fostered in Snohomish, Washington. Follow her fostering adventures at http://wulfgrl-mydogblog.blogspot.com/

Bella
Our next girl is named Bella. She's a pretty 2-3 year old brindle piebald, Rat Terrier mix who loves to play and has a great temperament. She's an active girl so couch potatoes need not apply. Her dream home will be a family who loves to play, hike, walk, etc and another playful dog would be a plus in Bella's book. She'll be fostered in Gig Harbor, Washington and you can follow her at http://gigharborratties.com/

Sheriff
The only boy we have this week is Sheriff. This sweet little man is about 4 months old and was picked up as a stray about a month ago. He had run out of time so a shelter volunteer contacted New Rattitude about him. We don't know much about his personality or size at this point but you can follow him on his foster mom's blog at http://yapitude.blogspot.com/  Sheriff will be fostered in Yakima, Washington.

A fourth dog didn't have far to go. Twelve year old Torii was at the Seattle Humane Society. She had arrived with several elderly Chihuahua's and all were in pretty bad shape. The SHS got her a dental and had several rotten teeth extracted. New Rattitude contacted them about Torii and because she was so stressed in the kennel environment, they transferred her to us. She's now much more relaxed and is settling in nicely in her foster home. Torii is being fostered in Seattle, Washington.

Rescue Railroad: New Foster Dog Arriving Tonight

We have one new boy arriving this week but wanted to let you know about him because he is a great guy.

Rusty was part of the breeding stock of a backyard breeder who called his dogs "Red Fox Terriers". From what we understand was he was pretty much taking miniature Rat Terriers and Miniature Pinschers and then dumping the dogs who weren't red. Former New Rattitude foster girl Ember was one of those pups who was dumped for being the "wrong" color.

Because he didn't have a kennel license the city or county was able to shut him down and all dogs were removed from his property. He was allowed to keep two dogs but they had to be spayed/neutered. Happily, the confiscated dogs weren't your average under-socialized messes that backyard breeders tend to turn out. They are pretty confident dogs with nice even temperaments.

Rusty is all red with upright ears and a docked tail. He weighs about 10-12 pounds and we'll learn more about him when he settles into his foster home. He'll be fostered by our newest foster parent, Farley Harding, in Seattle, Washington. A big thank you to Farley for stepping up and being a part of saving this guy's life.

Rescue Railroad: Two New Foster Dogs Arriving in Washington NR Foster Homes

It's that time again, folks! We have two new dogs arriving in Western Washington foster homes.  Let's introduce these kiddos:

Xena
First we have Xena. Miss Xena is about 16 pounds and eighteen months old. In December she was adopted from a shelter as part of their discount holiday adoption program. She was given as a gift to a 76 year old woman with mobility issues. While Xena is by no means what we could consider a high energy terrier, she is a puppy terrier nonetheless. Puppies are never a good gift choice, however, they are especially not a good choice for a senior citizen who struggles to get around. So Xena was returned to the shelter. Not her fault at all - she's a great dog! We hear she's house trained, even-tempered and laid back. She's also quite a beauty as well. Xena will be fostered in Gig Harbor, Washington. To follow her continuing story, check out her foster family's Website at www.gigharborratties.com

Royal
Our second dog is Royal. We have gotten conflicting reports from his records on his age. Some say he is one year and others say he is five. Our vet says he is more in the 3 year old range from what she can guess. Royal is another great dog. He's about 15 pounds and is house trained and great with other dogs. Welcome to Washington, Royal! He'll be fostered in Seattle, Washington. To follow his adventures in foster care check out his foster mom's blog at http://cattierattie.blogspot.com/

Rescue Railroad: 3 New Rat Terriers Headed to New Rattitude's Pacific Northwest Foster Homes

You've met our newest foster dog, Klee. Here are the other two dogs arriving in Northwest foster homes this weekend.

Toogie is a sweet 6 month old puppy who is full of energy and ready for a home of his own. He's a good sized guy who weighs about 13 pounds and will weigh about 15-16 pounds full grown. He'll be fostered in the Hood River, Oregon area.

Sylvia is a 6 month old little girl who is a bit shy and came to the shelter as a stray. She's looking for a quiet family who will give her time come out of her shell and be all the puppy she was meant to be. Sylvia will be fostered in Yakima, Washington.

Rescue Railroad: 5 New Northwest NR Foster Dogs

Along with Abo we have 4 other dogs that will be arriving tonight for foster homes in Washington and Oregon. Let's introduce them!

Tremolo
Tremolo is a young guy, not quite a year old and weighs about 14 pounds. He's a typical pup - bouncy and friendly and mouthy - and loves everyone he meets.

Gino
Gino's owner passed away and he ended up being surrendered to the shelter. He's four years old and weighs 11 pound although he's on the pudgy side and could lose a pound or two. Gino is a sweet gentle boy who loves people.

Tessa
Tessa is a black and white Rat Terrier who is about 3 years old and our guess at weight is 12 pounds. She has a healed injury to her front leg that New Rattitude will be having x-rayed to see if there is anything to help fix it. She gets around great though and doesn't let it slow her down much.

Thor
Thor had been in the shelter as a kennel mate to former NR foster boy Soos. He's about 12-18 months old and weighs about 12 pounds. He loves to play and tear around with other dogs but is just as happy to play with his people.

Rescue Railroad: Two new dogs arriving in Washington Foster Homes

Because of vacations and work trips in the month of January, the Washington team is a little light on dogs until the end of the month. However, we did manage to bring up two new foster girls thanks to our Bellevue foster home.

Ember
First we have Ember. Ember is about 10 months old and ended up in the shelter with her mom and dad. Her family came to reclaim them but decided to leave Ember since she wasn't a popular color/marking pattern for a Rat Terrier and was too old to sell. So her parents went home but poor Ember stayed. Happily we were able to rescue her and she is going to have a great time in her foster home - especially since she'll be sharing it with this next foster pup. Amber is all tan with some white on her chest and she has a docked tail. She'll be fostered in Bellevue, Washington.

Ruby
The second pup is Ruby. She's about 5-6 months old and was a stray with a broken leg who was brought into the shelter. The shelter's vetting annex set the break, splinted her, and then searched for a rescue spot for her. She was fostered for the shelter by a good Samaritan and now her leg is as good as new! She's heading to Bellevue to hang out with Ember.
